Re: Ottoneu - Standard Points

Just popping in to say I was searching the forums trying to go in the exact same direction to come up with bid limits or values (last year was my first year playing Ottoneu, didn't plan it very well, had a steep learning curve) and the PPG method makes a ton of sense. Just figured out how to Excel i...

Re: AL Only Home League Strategy Idea / Question

I tend to agree, thanks for talking me out of it. Maybe next year when my Sale deal expires. These other owners tend to hardly ever trade, so the chances of a pre-auction trade are slim and none.

Thanks for your time, Todd.

Re: AL Only Home League Strategy Idea / Question

So try and trade him before Sunday or just throw him back and go for cheap SP's? The closers will be hard to get, they go pretty high usually, but the middle relievers and cheap starters are usually fairly easy to come by in my experience. (edit - the innings minimum is 700, I think I can get there ...

AL Only Home League Strategy Idea / Question

So my home league is an AL only, 8 teams, 5x5, 2 catchers and no bench spots. They use roto scoring but with 2 week scoring periods, so every two weeks you start with a fresh new period. We also can only make waiver moves at the end of each period, but can replace injured or demoted guys mid-period....

Re: Complicated Home League Auction Question

Yep, I agree. Honestly I think a couple of the guys are much more "casual" fantasy baseball players and part of the reason that keepers aren't announced until then is I think 1 or 2 guys don't pay much attention to it until draft weekend. Thanks a lot for your input, has at least helped me...

Re: Complicated Home League Auction Question

Thanks for the input. The one thing I didn't say is we keep 6 and use 3 year contracts, and the final "quirk" is that they have a sort of "restricted free agency" system where if your player's deal expires, you have the option to automatically top the winning bid. So for example,...

Complicated Home League Auction Question

Hey Todd, Really appreciate all your great analysis, especially the pods with DVR. Never miss one. About 11 years ago I joined an AL only home league. 8 teams, 5 OF, CI, MI, DH, 2 catchers and no bench (makes 2 catchers super fun  ). 5x5, roto scoring but with 2 week scoring periods (I guess w...
