Got Josh Donaldson for $1 as the last player on my roster in 2013...at this point in his career Donaldson's OPS was about .650 in approx. 330 PA's...he just exploded for me the next few seasons...I really lucked into him; I needed a reserve CI and he fit the bill....very happy no one said $2.

Erron in HOLDS in March 8 CVRC & Projections
Hi Todd, I'm in a league that uses Holds so I need valid HOLDS projections to cut & paste into the CVRC league set-up in order to give me values I can work with. In the March 8 iteration of both the Pitching Projections and the CVRC the values in the HOLDS columns are duplicates of the values in...

Hi Todd, I just ran the hitting CVRC using the Feb 8 projections for my 12 team AL only 5x5 league and I have a question about the results. We have an auction budget of $315 to purchase 10 hitters/10 pitchers and I use a 67% hitting/33% pitching budget split. Based on these league parameters I set t...

CVRC tool and 2011 stats
First, thanks for a great season - I have three fantasy teams in three very competitive leagues and finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively. Mastersball was well worth the time and money invested! Was wondering if there was a chance that the 2011 player stats could be loaded onto the CVRC tool so th...

Perry, Thanks for your response. My current OF's are Victorino, Braun, Prado, and Holliday (have Hinske filling in for Holliday while he is on the DL). In my league Prado will have 3B eligibility after he plays 2 more games there. I Short term, I'd be looking to move Prado to 3B to replace Casey Bla...

Charlie Blackmon - worth rostering?
I don't know much about Charlie Blackmon other than that he has some very solid minor league stats at Colorado Springs this year. How highly regarded of a prospect is he? Does he a figure to make a fantasy contribution this year or is he more likely up until Dexter Fowler returns from the DL? Any in...

cvrc Todd, The CVRC, using my league parameters, shows Pineda witha value of $9 and Niemann with a value of $4. Thanks for the advice. I decided to make the trade. Re: Cat. Weights for League Using .OPS instead of .AVG or .OPB
Todd,
Thanks again for your input! I'll watch for overdrafting OPS. And instead of weighing OPS at 1.0 I might lower it to .9 or .85 to adjust for your comment that OBP and SLG are only a "little more" stable than AVG.

Re: Auction Strategy for 10-Hitter/10-Pitcher AL-only League?
daweasle, Thanx for your reply. I misstated the roster requirements. For hitters the UT position has to be filled by an IF. This will make the OF's a little a little less scarce at the auction. By the way, you were right on the money with your assessment of Ellsbury value in this league's format. Us...

Re: Category Values for League with Non-Traditional Categories?
Todd, I totally understand your rationale for changing the category weights (i.e., HR's are less plentiful, SB are more plentiful, and BA is comparatively unstable). In terms of pitching it seems to me that, in general, because of factors such as lack of run support, faltering bullpens, etc., that W...
