Re: Allowing Bryce Harper 25th round keeper after waiver wire pi
Todd likely knew what I was going to say. The rules are the rules and they were not broken. The owner in question saved his money all year, passing up other players. He had no idea if/when ESPN would make Harper droppable. There is no chance there was cheating or collusion. As you said, you already ...

Unique league rules
Hello, everyone. In my weekly column here at Mastersball, I want to highlight interesting league rules that others may be interested in adopting as well. If you have some candidates, please share them here or via PM. Thanks to all and good luck this coming season!

Re: Kevin Millwood
OK, I will come back to Millwood. The Cardinals probably won't need him. Unless Kyle McClellan pitches poorly in camp, he should get Adam Wainwright's rotation spot in St. Louis. Millwood has lost a couple of MPH off his fastball in the last couple of years. I don't see any reason to bother with him...

Re: Pujols and The Nationals
The Cardinals will surely be given right to match any bids. If they don't keep Pujols, it will only be because they choose not to pay, a potentially-disastrous outcome given their strategy to date. Having not traded him for a Teixeira-sized take two years ago and ending up with just two comp draft p...

I like it a lot better----yea odd Rotoworld changed theres like two days earlier. One and only complaint with mastersball is the freakin pop-ups on the site, yes yes I know how funding works, so I get it, but those are pains in the arse! I have to 100% agree though with Vipers, Content A++++ Now if...

Our new MastersDraft draft software application is now ready for download from our Platinum page. As tempting as it might be to install the draft software co...

...Part of the reason is that I live in a dead zone for phone service. The "can you hear me now" guy has not been down our street. I had the same problem until a few years ago, when a "pine tree" taller than the others sprouted on a neighboring ridge. ;-) Re: social media, I und...

Re: Any chance of using Twitter...
We recognize the importance of social media and are working on a process that would create auto tweets and auto Facebook entries for new articles when posted. It's not done, but should be doable and if so, it is days, not weeks or months away. Stay tuned and thanks for your interest and support.

Re: Masters of the NFBC
Not a great year so far for Teams Mastersball. I am 145th overall and that is best of our five main event teams. In that stacked league of mine, I have only 28.5 hitting points but am somehow still in seventh. Again that is the best of the four industry teams with Ravitz/Colton and Schechter lurking...

Re: strategy from 1 & 2 hole
FWIW. my NFBC plan from #2 was Hanley, Pedroia/Phillips and best 3B left. Both Phillips and Pedroia were taken the two picks ahead of me in the second, so I took Youkilis instead and picked up Werth in the third, though I seriously considered doubling down on Sandoval. I changed my sights to Zobrist...

Re: Joe Mauer - $184 Million
The Twins will regret not using some of Carl Pohlad's money to have at least designed Target Field in such a way that a roof could be added later. The construction precludes that. Amazingly short-sighted. Pujols' opening bid should be $25 million per. The only real question is whether or not he will...

Re: Grapefruit League Notes: NL Only?
Thanks for reading. In past years at CREATiVESPORTS, our camp notes (then weekly) included all teams in an attempt to be comprehensive. The reality of the net is that you can get that basic information on cuts and injuries a lot of places. What I am doing this year is only reporting on what I see wi...

Re: Jason Grey Top 100 Prospects for 2010
Here is a tip I learned. ESPN is so anxious to get subscriptions to the Magazine, they are willing to give Insider access "free" with the magazine. Defying logic, the price of the mag (+ Insider) is considerably less than Insider alone. You do need to go in after receiving your first mag t...

Re: A Few Rotation Battles
Regarding the Cardinals, the battle seems to be shaping up between Hill and McClellan. If Hill can demonstrate control, he will get the job as McClellan has already proven his value as a reliever. The team may consider that as best of both worlds, but it all depends on Hill. Very early word is that ...

Re: HOF votes
I see the most interesting year to be 2013 as Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, and Piazza appear on the ballot for the first time, with the possibility of Bagwell left over from 2011. Do voters ignore the rumors and visual evidence of extreme changes in body size and dimensions, and just vote based on what the...

Re: Leveraging Mastersball Projections
Good discussion. The idea of having a summary of other projection systems at hand offers a good reality check. Having said that, I wouldn't become too overconfident with it, not that anyone here is suggesting that. After all, using the Mixed Tout auction as an extreme example, there were 17 players ...

Re: What the hell were the Diamondbacks thinking?!
Rumors out there that Scherzer is not viewed to be future starting material. I did not take the time to look into whether or not that is founded. I would think that if Granderson could have been corrected to start hitting lefties, it would have been done long ago. His .614 career OPS against LHP is ...

Re: Twitter: Better than Rotoworld?
I would just reinforce one of Todd's concerns mentioned above. Just yesterday, someone initiated a false rumor that the Marlins turned down an offer for Josh Johnson from the Rangers for Smoak and Feliz. It must have been tweeted and re-tweeted 200 times before someone actually checked and debunked ...
