Re: Madrigal and Hays projections

Thanks Todd. I totally understand your take on Hays. Maybe I am not using/looking at the MIX15 value the correct way. I was using it as a sort of overall ranking to be able to compare players of similar roto value...is that not correct? When I look at the $18 and $17 players, most of them are in sim...

Madrigal and Hays projections

Ive spent the whole draft season using the excellent draft tracking tools provided here and I just want to say thank you before I say that I have spent what seems like all draft season with Madrigal and Hayes as the top value guys on the board. Zola, you must have both of these guys on every roster,...

freeze day trade advice

Today is roster freeze day and Ive been offered Cuddyer($8) and Pierre($1) for Ryan Doumit($1) in a 12-team mixed keeper. We start 2 catchers, and Doumit is my only one. I have an irrational love for Doumit as a C who gets a ton of ABs, and while there are plenty of C replacements on draft day (for ...

Atlanta live auction mixed 5x5 keeper openings

Our 10-year-old Atlanta-based live auction mixed 5x5 roto keeper league needs 2-3 owners (it had 13 franchises last year). We will all meet to draft sometime during the weekend of March 23-24 at a community clubhouse in Cumming. It's $100, plus the CBS league fees, which are divided equally. Top 5 p...

Re: Need help putting together a trade package

Everyone knows everyone (or at least we have a live draft every year), and I asked him to let me know who he wanted...to no avail. Anyway, I was thinking Victor and Hellickson to get Verlander is worth it even if my team is strong in pitching already. At the very worst I can turn around and deal Ver...

Need help putting together a trade package

So the last place team has just raised the white flag and made most of his team available. He has told the league via message board that he will not accept any offers until Friday so everyone has fair time to submit offers. He also will only trade 2 players to any single team. So basically, you prop...

Re: How do you find players to add?

I always start by looking @ the roster trends on cbs. I think it updates every 4 hours or something. knowing what players are being grabbed across all leagues and formats certainly doesnt hurt and it leads you off in the correct direction.

Re: Did I play it right?

Just reading Perry's rebuilding post...this might seem applicable. I made my first couple moves this year already on this rebuilding job (see first post), with one being major, even though it is early. first move: traded Myers($5) for Seager(2) and Pomeranz(3) second move: Traded my overpriced Hosme...

Re: Did I play it right?

and PS - that is a terrible rule which you should really get the league to change (unless they offered you 50% or better reduction in league fees). League that want to add a new team should do everything possible (dispersal draft, extra picks, extra auction dollars, whatever) to give a new team a c...

Did I play it right?

13 teams, mixed roto league, 10 keepers. The catch is that as the "new guy" in the league, I was forced to start from scratch. This, as you might imagine, made it very difficult. So, did I play it right, or miss the mark? I admit right now I got very carried away on Hosmer (plus he was the...

Perry Van Hook's long-term top 100

Hey this is a great list...thanks!

Question: 3 of my minor league keepers (NL league) are on the list...but the fourth, Casey Kelly was left off. Was that an oversight or did he fall off a cliff and I didnt see it?
