Re: NFBC team advice
your OF isn't any great shakes. i think you'll have to put prado there more than you think i would disagree about adding scheppers. i don't think you have the roster flexibility. looks like you went balls out on SP early, and have a nice rotation, but at the detriment of the offense. i wouldn't feel...

Re: My first slow draft of 2012 season (NFBC 50 round / No FAAB)
i think your counting stats will be ok, though i think your BA is at serious risk. i like your potential starting rotation and bullpen, but i think your SP depth is pretty weak. your offense is in much better shape to absorb slumps/injuries imo. some really nice upside guys in the reserve rounds. al...

Re: My first slow draft of 2012 season (NFBC 50 round / No FAAB)
fair enough. i'm not sure i would lean that heavily towards pitching, but I understand the reasoning. i would fear not having enough ab's than enough ip's, so my lean would be more 27-23 hitter/pitcher. it is good to read people's thoughts on these. we all have different philosophies and comfort lev...

Love the Peacock pick -- bet his ADP is 10 rounds earlier by March i don't know, he's actually going backwards in the drafts i've seen him in! i disagree with Hook saying you are way behind in pitching. it's not your strength, but you have a few high upside arms that if you hit on, you're fine. you...

Re: Things that I don't get
and San Jose will welcome them with open arms:)
i'm not an A's fan, but it will be nice for one of the largest cities in the US to finally get a professional team! (technically the Sharks count, but I mean from the big 2 sports)

Re: Gio just traded....A's plan on being a AAAA team in 2011
no Moneyball backlash. I am neither a Giants or A's fan, just someone who resides in the Bay Area. I just don't think Beane has been held accountable for the multitude of poor trades, signings he has made. But again, these last 2 trades look pretty solid for him. And with their imminent move to San ...

while that statement is hard for me to argue, Beane has been atrocious for years and vastly overrated. With these last 2 trades, he is regaining some of the luster he had lost.
Either way, Beane and Sabean are both closer to the bottom than they are the top.

Beane has made so many poor decisions over the years, that he was almost due to get something right. These last 2 trades are very good for the A's. I think Sabean regained the mantel of worst baseball GM in the Bay Area. Well done Billy.

Re: NFBC $125 Pay Top 3 Sat league
you shouldn't be scared to join any nfbc league. they are all tough for sure, but if you do your homework and stay on top of things, you'll be fine. to echo Ryan, the Main Event is a blast. if you have the resources, you should give it a thought. the auction championship is great too. no matter what...
